Do I need to dress up?

There are no dress codes at Christ Lutheran Church, come as you are. However, you might see people wearing shorts, sometimes jeans, sometimes dresses, sometimes a sport coat, but rarely a dress shirt and tie. Whatever you feel comfortable with wearing, it will be fine.

What is the Service like?

Mostly traditional, but it varies seasonally. The worship music is a mix of traditional and contemporary songs. Not all the songs were written in the 16^th Century! The order of service is printed in a worship folder and projected on a screen so you always know what is going on. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1^st and 3^rd Sundays of each month. On the 5^th Sunday of a month, a Service of Healing and Anointing is included in the Order of Worship.

Also, on the 2^nd Sunday of the month a second offering is collected for Mission Support of the Western Iowa Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. And finally on the 3^rd Sunday of the month we start worship with a Hymn Sing, you get to choose the songs to sing!

Can I take communion if I’m not a member of Christ Lutheran?

Yes, everyone is welcome to the Table of the Lord.

Whether you want to find out about having a baptism, a wedding, getting confirmed, volunteering, having children attend Sunday School or if there is the need for a funeral in your family, we are here for you.
