What to Expect

Do I need to dress up?

There are no dress codes at Christ Lutheran Church, come as you are. However, you might see people wearing shorts, sometimes jeans, sometimes dresses, sometimes a sport coat, but rarely a dress shirt and tie. Whatever you feel comfortable with wearing, it will be fine.

What is the Service like?

Mostly traditional, but it varies seasonally. The worship music is a mix of traditional and contemporary songs. Not all the songs were written in the 16th Century! The order of service is printed in a worship folder and projected on a screen so you always know what is going on. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month. On the 5th Sunday of a month, a Service of Healing and Anointing is included in the Order of Worship.

Also, on the 2nd Sunday of the month a second offering is collected for Mission Support of the Western Iowa Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. And finally on the 3rd Sunday of the month we start worship with a Hymn Sing, you get to choose the songs to sing!

Can I take communion if I’m not a member of Christ Lutheran?

Yes, everyone is welcome to the Table of the Lord.
